Vacation - First Day
So we finally get to dad's house at about one in the morning. Slightly exhausted but excited to be away from home, we bring everything in an talk to the guys a little while.
Hubby starts asking, "Are you hungry? Wanna go out?" I look at him like he's crazy but he offers to drive.
BIL also agrees that he's hungry and not only offers to go, but to drive as well. So we head out to the only place open at 1:30 a.m. in Showlow...Wal-Mart. Ugh!! We get all sorts of food, including pizza.
We head back to the house and wait about an hour for the pizza to cook. I'm exhausted, but still have a glass of wine that hubby picked up just for me. Double-exhaustion.
I finally gobble down the pizza and head to bed.
Oddly enough, we all get up at 8 a.m. and right away DIL (dad-in-law) wants to head out to do the ski lift about an hour's drive away. However hubby looks at my sandals disgustingly and says, "You'll need something better than that to go climbing in."
So we all pile into the van, all 8 of us, and head back over to Wal-Mart. I get some gym shoes, and the guys get some fishing gear. THEN we head out.
We drove to the ski lift, found out it was closed, drove to Greer, drove to the lake, then drove back to Showlow. This took us all of about 7 hours. Ugh!!!
By the time we hit the little mexican food resteraunt, we were all exhausted and wanted to just head home.
The guys were all excited about the fishing trip they had planned the next morning and SIL and I were looking forward to some girls time.
So far it's been a nice, but tiring, holiday.
