Good Old Days

I am at total loss of inhibitions right now.

The roomy got a six pack of wine from his parents tonight and we decided to partake of it. Red wine. Yummy!!!

So being the total lightweight that I am, Ive only had one glass and Im totally buzzed. Roomy and I just came in from being outside and talking shit about a whole bunch of things. Mostly reminiscing.

Its a nice summer night tonight, so we sat on the porch chairs, drank wine, smoked cigarettes and shared memories. I love summer nights in Phoenix. Summer days totally suck monkey balls, but summer nights rock!!

I was telling him about when my friend, red, and I would kick it on the apartment porch on the second floor, drink wine, smoke cigarettes and talk to anyone who would listen when they walked by. Well, we would pretty much talk to anyone whether they listened or not. We had quite an eclectic group in our apartment complex.

First there was red. Mother of two and totally cool. We met her one night, hanging out on the porch, with some weird guy who she had only dated like once before. He spewed on about his cool car, big wallet, and my need for losing weight. Fag! She dumped him that night after getting totally freaked out and disgusted by him.

Then next to her was this older guy, about mid-fifties, and his wife. They were pretty nice, but one night when he came home his apartment was cleaned out. The only thing left was a Dear John note.

Next to him was an apartment with a guy who never stepped out. He was a weird one. Hubby and I decided to introduce ourselves soon after he moved in. We knocked on the door and all he did was open a slat on his mini-blinds. We announced we were just saying hello and introducing ourselves. He said, Yeah, hi, then shut his blinds. We never saw him again.

On our other side was a couple of lesbians who seem to be in a pretty committed relationship. They were really nice and we used to cat sit for them when they went on vacation. After they moved out, some school kids moved in and we met our future roommate from Seattle. He was a nice kid although his priorities were a little fucked up. But hey, at 20, whose priorities arent?

Next to them was this weird guy, Dale. He was incredibly skinny and a total tweaker to boot, Im sure. He used to talk about all the get rich quick schemes and was a total perv. He kinda weirded me out. I was glad when him and his girlfriend left.

Then downstairs was this petite Mexican guy with a girlfriend. Sounds innocent enough, however he was taking estrogen and soon to be getting a sex change. With a girlfriend. Did I mention that??

Then of course, there are those people you know but never really meet. Like the girl across the way who would pray every night. Oh God! Oh God! Okay, maybe she wasnt praying

Then there was another apartment full of school kids. One of them was this skinny black kid who would proclaim that he was the rave king. He would constantly be walking around with rave glo-sticks and dancing his funky little dance to nonexistent techno music. He would tell us how he sold e and was the greatest dealer ever. He thought he was invincible. Red and I would always try to tell him how he wasnt and needed to drop that shit and soon.

So those were my summer nights. Hanging around heckling the neighbors. Hanging out and getting drunk. Talking sex and politics and religion with red into the early hours of the next morning.

Ahhhh, the good ole days.
